Book Review - Never Lie

πŸ“– Title: Never Lie
✍️ Author: Freida McFadden
πŸ“„ Pages: 335
⭐ Rating: 2/5

Never Lie by Freida McFadden is a psychological thriller! When I first started this book, I was thoroughly invested and enjoying it. I continued to enjoy it through the middle and was eagerly waiting for the twist.

Then suddenly, there’s this twist — but the thing is, the twist makes no sense. This is my first Freida read, and I was quite disappointed that this one didn’t work for me at all.

The writing is good, the chapters are short, and the pace is fast with plenty of twists and turns. The parallel narrative of past and present kept me engaged.

“The only way two people can keep a secret is if one of them is dead.”

Freida, you make my trust issues 10× worse.

Unseverable Ties by @farhaanawrites

This book delivers a captivating Tollywood-inspired romance filled with surprising turns and thrilling action that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

The narrative centers around Yashveer and Adrika, two resilient individuals united by their traumatic experiences and hidden secrets, with their bond adding an intriguing layer to the story.
I felt so involved with the characters in this book as it felt so real. The female protagonist is just perfect. She's feisty, sweet, supportive and most importantly she never bows down. I adored them both as a couple and i crossed my fingers as they fight through their troubles. I was fully engrossed in the storyline. This book was like a movie playing over and over in my head.

The author masterfully conveyed the cultural essence with exceptional writing that I thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish, thanks to its clear and concise language.

This captivating narrative maintains a strong hold on the reader's attention from start to finish, making it an absolute must-read.

Book Review - Love sick

Title: Love sick
Author: Jon Athan
Pages : 190
Rating : 4.5 /5

Love sick by @authorjonnyathan is a gripping exploration of obsession and desire that pulls readers into a dark and twisted narrative. The story centers around a protagonist whose infatuation spirals out of control, blurring the lines between love and madness.

This story felt like a nightmare, I'm starting to think I ate some questionable tuna before bedtime. How I managed not to throw up while reading this is beyond me. I believe that's a success for the Author's writing skills.

Some readers may find this story unsuitable due to its content. But I had an unexpectedly amazing time reading it.

Warning: this book will mess with your head and your heart. Proceed with caution, and be prepared to redefine love... or at least question what you thought you knew about it.

This book is ridiculously good ❤️

The seven years slip by Ashley poston

" Nothing lasts forever, not the good things, not the bad. So just find what makes you happy, and do it for as long as you can"

Wow, what a magical, laughably lovely, and heart warmingly cheesy story! This novel combines romance, personal growth, and a touch of magical elements. The seven-year slip serves as a poignant reminder that life's most unexpected turns can lead to its most wonderful surprises.

Iwan & Clementine πŸ’›

They make a wonderful couple .I love them both. Iwan's personality was so infectious, he was basically a human golden retrieverπŸ₯Ή♥️

Synopsis :

An overworked book publicist with a perfectly planned future hits a snag when she falls in love with her temporary roommate…only to discover he lives seven years in the past, in this witty and wise new novel from the New York Times bestselling author of The Dead Romantics.

Sometimes, the worst day of your life happens, and you have to figure out how to live after it.

So Clementine forms a plan to keep her heart safe: work hard, find someone decent to love, and try to remember to chase the moon. The last one is silly and obviously metaphorical, but her aunt always told her that you needed at least one big dream to keep going. And for the last year, that plan has gone off without a hitch. Mostly. The love part is hard because she doesn’t want to get too close to anyone—she isn’t sure her heart can take it.

And then she finds a strange man standing in the kitchen of her late aunt’s apartment. A man with kind eyes and a Southern drawl and a taste for lemon pies. The kind of man that, before it all, she would’ve fallen head-over-heels for. And she might again.

Except, he exists in the past. Seven years ago, to be exact. And she, quite literally, lives seven years in his future.

Her aunt always said the apartment was a pinch in time, a place where moments blended together like watercolors. And Clementine knows that if she lets her heart fall, she’ll be doomed.

After all, love is never a matter of time—but a matter of timing.

Book Review - The song of Achilles

Title : The song of Achilles
Author: Madeline Miller
Pages : 408
Rating: 3/5

I DON'T GET THE HYPE !!!

The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller is a Greek literature and mythology book. This is a story about two young warriors Achilles and Patroclus and the Trojan War. I know that the majority of people love this book. I didn't get the plot I was expecting. To me, it felt a bit slow and boring - ish. I've had to push myself to finish this book, you won't believe it took me more than a week. Speaking of the fact I adore the love Patroclus and Achilles had for each other. I truly liked the character Briseis. I think this was not my cup of tea.

Synopsis:

Achilles, "the best of all the Greeks," son of the cruel sea goddess Thetis and the legendary king Peleus, is strong, swift, and beautiful, irresistible to all who meet him. Patroclus is an awkward young prince, exiled from his homeland after an act of shocking violence. Brought together by chance, they forge an inseparable bond, despite risking the gods' wrath.

They are trained by the centaur Chiron in the arts of war and medicine, but when word comes that Helen of Sparta has been kidnapped, all the heroes of Greece are called upon to lay siege to Troy in her name. Seduced by the promise of a glorious destiny, Achilles joins their cause, and torn between love and fear for his friend, Patroclus follows. Little do they know that the cruel Fates will test them both as never before and demand a terrible sacrifice.

Twisted games by Ana Huang

Hey Bookies, here is my review of Twisted Games by @authoranahuang

After reading Twisted Love which is the first book in the Twisted series I started this with fewer expectations. well, this book did not disappoint me. I loved the trope and the tension between Rhys Larsen and Bridget. I was blushing and giggling the entire time. I loved Bridget and Rhys's relationship right from the moment they met. I equally love them both. It was the perfect fairytale love story.

Bridget was a brave, lovely young woman. I like the way she stood up for herself. The transition from a sweet, innocent girl to a responsible Queen was just πŸ”₯

"I was a princess, he was my bodyguard.
I was twenty -two, he was thirty-two
It was wrong, but I couldn't stop."

Rhys Larsen>>>♥️

He was Amazing!!! The small moment of jealousy by Rhys was so cuteπŸ₯Ί. Although he was shown to be a big dangerous broody bodyguard, secretly he was a sweetheart. His gesture truly had my heart fluttering.

"I want to be in your mind, in your heart, and in your fucking soul the way you are in mine.
You and me, princess...
"Against the world"

The spice and smut were delicious πŸ”₯πŸ₯΅
Tbh, the plot and the story were easily predictable and I personally don't like submissive female characters during the smut and this book was full of it. Just my opinion!

Looking forward to reading the next book in the series!
